There are 10 public sand volleyball court areas at Ocean Beach in San Diego. The courts are free to use from 8:00 a.m. to dusk. Nets are not provided, so bring your own net, ball and boundary lines.

Using the courts
Where the courts are
The volleyball poles are near the main beach restrooms. Eight court areas are north of the restrooms and two are just east of them.
Availability
Courts that are not reserved for permitted events are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Equipment
Bring a net designed to attach to the existing poles. Freestanding volleyball systems are not permitted in the permanent court area.

Newport Avenue is a short walk from the courts and has restaurants, coffee shops and bars. The food map lists nearby options with estimated walking times.

The courts are at Ocean Beach near the main beach restrooms and lifeguard tower. Parking is available along Abbott Street and in the nearby beach parking lots. Parking can be difficult on summer weekends.
